Most men I know acknowledge 'Mother's Day' because we have had to set an example for the kids - help them draw a card, make breakfast in bed, buy flowers, etc. We're appreciative of the event - but we're not always tuned into it. This last year I set out to do something different and made a great event. We celebrated that Sunday like all the years before - I made dinner, we acknowledged the motherly contributions through out our lives and the past year etc. We had the flowers and the day was nice and appreciated. THEN I presented the gift!
